Bedouin

Origin: Jordan 🇯🇴 / New Jersey, USA 🇺🇸
Genre / Subgenres: Electronic / Melodic house, Organic house, Deep house

Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe formed in 2012 and have heavily incorporated their Middle Eastern heritage into the soundscapes they create since the get-go. Another thing they've been doing since their inception is positioning themselves as storytellers and taking their audience on musical journeys rather than focusing on drops or thumping bass patterns.

Talk about stamina. The duo is well-known for composing slow-burn arrangements containing long intros, evolving grooves, and extended breakdowns. Their sets can sometimes last three to five hours. Vocals are also treated as textural instruments instead of catchy hooks. Throw on some Bedouin if you want to go on an adventure.

Performing: Saturday
Stage Confirmation: Yuma*
For Fans of: Damian Lazarus, Viken Arman, WhoMadeWho
Rating: ★★★½

Ethel Cain

Origin: Tallahassee, Florida, USA 🇺🇸
Genre / Subgenres: Pop / Southern gothic, Slowcore, Dream pop

Ethel Cain is a fictional character that singer-songwriter Hayden Silas Anhedonia created to explore many facets of life, including trauma, identity, religion, and Southern American mythology. In addition to writing her own lyrics, she also produces, records, and mixes her own work, which is compiled into a universe commonly referred to as "the Ether Cain lore."

Her rise to popularity didn't happen overnight. She relied on a cult Internet following to build her up before she was able to release her EP, Inbred, which received widespread acclaim and put her on the radar. Suddenly, her cinematic, emotionally oppressive subject matter was going viral across the United States, and then the rest of the world, as she sang about deeply disturbing topics such as family violence, sexual exploitation, and addiction. However, through the darkness of it all, Ethel Cain makes fantastic music and is terrific at telling us ghost stories without the jumpscares, which can sometimes be even more unsettling.

Performing: Friday
Stage Prediction: Mojave
For Fans of: Chelsea Wolfe, Midwife, Lingua Ignota
Rating: ★★★★
Ratings are on a 5-star scale
