Carolina Durante

Origin: Madrid, Spain

When I saw this name on the lineup, I assumed it was a female solo act. To my surprise, it's a group of four male friends from Spain who named their band after a girl they knew from school. They claim that there is no romantic connection to this Carolina Durante, but how flattering, I guess! Their sound is very guitar-driven, and it gives off that classic Y2K garage rock, only everything is in español, which keeps it intriguing. They're a new voice for the Spanish youth, and you can hear the evolution from their early stuff to their current stuff, but they've never lost their edge.

Clipse

Origin: Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
Genre / Subgenres: Rap / East Coast hip-hop, Gangsta rap


Clipse tend to be overlooked when you think of Virginia Beach hip-hop icons. You might credit Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Pharrell Williams for putting VA on the map, and you'd be right. However, Clipse (comprised of brothers Pusha T and Malice) arguably have the most recognizable beat in rap history, thanks to the production of Pharrell on "Grindin'". If you're a millennial, then you, or at least someone you knew, would be banging on high school classroom tables trying to mimic the beat before the period bell rings. It's been 16 years since their last album, and though Pusha continued to be successful as a solo rapper, the brothers never lost their touch and delivered one of the best albums of 2025. Production is still as tight, thanks to Mr. Williams, and their cocaine-slinging lyrics are as packed as their bricks are.
